Frederick Harvey, II
Lead Pastor/Elder
Frederick Harvey, II, “Pastor Fred” is the Lead Pastor of Spirit and Truth Fellowship of Philadelphia, PA. Pastor Fred was born and raised in Milton, Delaware and moved to Philadelphia in to attend Drexel University. He has been serving in ministry for over 20 years in a variety of capacities and worship settings. In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor Fred is also a Human Resources Consultant for three Philadelphia-area non-profits and a certified Leadership Coach. He spent 16 years as a HR Executive in Telecommunications before formally entering the pastorate. Fred is happily married to Shayna Harvey, who is also a minister, author and certified financial planner. “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything comes from us, but our competence comes from God.” 2nd Cor. 3:5
Dylan Hunter McShain
Pastoral Resident / Director of Outreach and Resources
Dylan joined Spirit and Truth Fellowship in 2017 after serving as a Youth Leader at a Community Church in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dylan loves connecting people and is greatly energized by implementing new ideas and moving programs forward. He has served in a variety of churches throughout the years, leaning heavily on almost 20 years of education experience as a certified teacher. As Director of Outreach and Resources at STF, Dylan brings a keen eye, a light heart, and a loving smile with him as he strives to steward the Lord’s resources with wisdom and grace. He is constantly searching the Spirit for new and engaging ways to serve and connect others. Dylan has been joyfully married since 2014 to Janae McShain, who also works at STF as an Administrator of Communications and Pastoral Support.
Ken MacBain
Treasurer/Elder
Ken MacBain is the Treasurer for Spirit and Truth Fellowship. He is retired from two local nonprofits, Esperanza Health Center and LOGAN Hope. He moved to the Logan neighborhood with his wife Anita in 1991 and became part of Spirit and Truth then. He has three amazing children, two still at home doing college during the pandemic, and one married with a grandson in Florida. At Spirit and Truth, he gives wisdom to administrative decisions and assists in our mission focus. Ken is currently working at a school in Nicaragua with his wife.
Michael Adams
Administrator of Operations/Deacon
Michael oversees facilities and coordinates repairs and other maintenance needs and upgrades. Shortly after graduating Messiah College (now Messiah University) in 2012, he began attending STF where he is the Worship and Audio Visual Leader. He is married to a lovely wife and father to a beautiful daughter, has 3 cats and 1 dog. In his spare time, you will find Michael learning new bass riffs, watching movies, playing video games and watching/playing sports; basically anything entertaining. In addition to working for STF, he is the full-time Administrator for the Christian Legal Clinics of Philadelphia, a ministry with whom STF has a partnership.
Janae McShain
Administrator of Communications & Pastoral Support
Janae McShain has been attending Spirit and Truth Fellowship since 2017 after the McShain family returned to Philadelphia from Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. At STF, Janae is a leader in our Worship Team Ministry. Janae is a retired Registered Nurse, and in addition to her part-time work with Spirit and Truth, serves as a Lactation Counselor in private practice.
Shayna Harvey
Associate Pastor/Elder
Shayna Harvey was born and raised in Philadelphia. She attended Central High School (255), Temple University, Palmer Seminary and Eastern University. She is presently CEO of Insight Total Stewardship, a faith based financial planning and investment management firm in the Philadelphia area. Shayna has authored a book on Faith and Finance, entitled, Money on Purpose: Finding a Faith-Filled Balance, and serves as a preacher and teacher of the gospel. She has been at Spirit & Truth since 2010, serving as an intern with Manny Ortiz, later ordained and serving with the pastoral staff in teaching, preaching and planning for special services. Shayna is married to her husband Frederick L. Harvey, II and in her spare time plays basketball, travels and watches lots of Food Network to better her culinary skills.
Susan Baker
Elder
Sue began ministering in Chicago with youth and then joined Manuel Ortiz’s church, holding administrative positions in both the church and the elementary school begun by the church. Now in Philadelphia Sue is an elder and the stated clerk for Spirit and Truth Fellowship and is the Assistant DMin Program Director at Missio Seminary. She also has authored and edited a number of books on urban/global mission concerns.
Taehoo Lee
Associate Pastor/Elder
Taehoo Lee is an ordained pastor and is responsible for an outreach ministry in North Philadelphia which provides an after school program during the school year and a summer camp for the neighborhood children. Living in that community, Taehoo take time to minister to his neighbors. At Spirit and Truth he assists in preaching, teaching adult classes, and providing pastoral care.
Catherine Williams-Frank
Elder - Vice Chair
Cathy was born and raised in Philadelphia. She has been attending Spirit and Truth since 1996 and has been involved in various adult and children's ministries over the years. Cathy is married to Chris Frank, a proud Philly public school teacher from Lancaster County. She is the mother of three children-one each in college, high school and middle school. She is a (government) lawyer by profession and has worked as a sex crimes prosecutor and school law attorney in the past. She enjoys running and gardening.
Susan Post
Elder - Second Vice Chair
Susan has been attending Spirit and Truth Fellowship for many years. She is the Executive Director of Esperanza Health Center. Susan enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Justin Perry
Elder
Justin first starting attending Spirit and Truth Fellowship in 2005. He is the Director of Operations at Esperanza Health Center. Justin lives in Mt. Airy with his wife (Krista) and three boys (Jack, Grant, and Wes). Justin enjoys renovating his house, being with his family, and working with youth.
